I've been to a lot of graduations and graduated 2 times myself but this was special because it was my first graduation of one of my children. I know it sounds silly but Olivia graduated today from preschool. All week I've been thinking and pondering this. And actually I find myself sad...she's growing up. I want my children to grow up but for some reason it's been surreal that she's really growing up...almost a kindergartner!
My favorite part of Olivia's preschool year was how Jesus was the center of everthing they learned each and everyday. On many days we would arrive and the door would be locked because Olivia's teachers would be praying for the children. What a gift. Today, her teacher, Amy Hall, chose a verse for each child. It was a meaningful time when Mrs. Hall placed her hands on each child and the pastor from the church read this specific verse over each child.
Olivia's verse is:
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his LOVE, and he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17.
I just love it. Her teacher said this verse was perfect for Olivia because everyday she came to school with a smile on her face and ready to learn. I just love to think that God is taking delight in my little one and rejoicing over her with singing!!! I am blessed. Olivia came home many days from school singing Bible verses and songs. She really loves to sing.
One more note, when I went to read this passage today, I found that I had underlined this verse in my Bible and now it is special to my sweetest little girl.
I love you Olivia Faith. I pray that God will always take delight in you and HE will rejoice over you with singing. I thank God for this last year of school for you. I pray a blessing on your dear teachers, Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Mogg.
You are my precious little girl...I promise to pray for you and guide you in HIS truth. I love being your mommy. May God bless you and keep you as you begin this journey of school next year. You are my blessing.
XOXO
Mommy

Sweet! She is so cute!
You did a great job journaling Livy's graduation. Where is your picture with her? This was very sweet and if I was a crier,I would have had tears, but you know me and my heart of stone. You have gotten soft on me over the past couple years. Thanks for sharing.
